FOOTBALL.
A mooting of the South Canterbury I Bugl>v Union was held in Timaru 011 Tuesday evening. Delegatus present— Messrs F. Perry and G. Jones (Timaru), C Buchanan (High School), W. Home (Star), J. Gillespie (Temuka), G. Murdoch {.V A. Austin (Waihi), G. Bwrry and C. N. Macintosh (Union), G. Thompbju and E.Rice (Colonials). Mr GnsJones was voted to the chair. The Pleasant Point Club was affiliated to the Union. It was decided that the Junior Flag shall become the property of any club winning that trophy 3 times in succession or 4 times at intervals; also that the President's Trophy become the property of any club winning it twice in succession or 3 times at intervals. The secretary was authorised to spend £1 Is in having the Junior Flag suitably mounted. It was decided to allow each •lub to nominate one vice-president, and the following gentlemen were then declared elected for the season 1892: Veil. Archdeacon Harper (High School) ; Messrs A. Perry (Timaru); J. T. M. Hayhurst (Temuka) ; D. Malmney (Colonials) ; M. Jonas (Union) ; W. B. Howell (Pleasant Point) ; F. Smith (Star) ; R. Wakely (Waihi). On the amplication of the Union Football Club Air R. Quinn was granted a transfer from the Colonial to the Union Football Club. It was decided that all clubs must nominate their respective teams for the various competitions and that all requests for reinstatement must be in the hands of the Secretary of the Rugby Union at least 7 clear days before the match conies off, in which each player requiring to be reinstated is to play. On the motion of Mr Perry, it was decided that in future, notice of four clear days muse be given of meetings of this Union. The following fixtures were then arranged:— Seniors. —May 19th, Union v. Waihi, at Winchester ; May 28th, Waihi v. Timaru, Atheletic Club's Ground. Junior Flag.—May 19th, Colouials v. Temuka; Temuka ; May 19th, Union 2nd v. Pleasant Point, Point ; June 2nd, Colonials v. Pleasant Point, Point ; June 2nd, Teniuka v. Union 2nd, Temuka ; June Uth, Timaru 2nd v. Colonials, Athletic 'Ground ; June 9rh, Point v. Teniuka, Point; June IGth, Union 2nd v. Timaru 2nd, Athletic Ground ; June 2:3rd, Temuka v. Timaru 2nd. Temuka ; June tfOfcli, Point v. Timaru 2nd, Athletic Ground. A jPresident's Trophy.—May 19th, Star v. At a meeting of the Dunediii Rugby Union it was unanimously decided, in reply to n letter from Mr Hoben, to decline to join a New Zealand Rugby Union.
