LABOUR.

London, April 21. In the event of the strike at the Staly Bridge oil mills not being settled the secretary of the union will on behalf of the strikers appeal to the other unions to make a levy of 2s per week. The Times considers that the rapid progress of the Labor party in New South Wales, Queensland and New Zealand, has had a repellent effect in Victoria. The Times thinks the Premier will be compelled to recruit his working majority from groups external to his following, and suggests a coalition in which would be recognised the great influence of the agricultural interests. THE ANARCHISTS. Paris, April 23. M. Lambert has caused the arrest of fifty-one Anarchists in the city and ninety-two in the provinces simultaneously, and it is hoped that one decisive stroke will paralyse the arrangements made for the demonstration on May Day. The Journal Pere Peinard has been seized on sccount of articles appearing in sympathy with the Anarchists. The police have seized numerous papers in the lodgings occupied by alleged Anarchists, which disclose a plot to dynamite public offices, including those occupied by the mayor, the commissariat, and also the churches. In Argentuil 30,000 copies of a violent placard, exciting a revolt on May Day were also seized. Madrid, April 21. Minor anarchist outrages in Spain continue. April 22. The detective admitted that Munoz was a spy on the actions of Anarchists, and that a plot for the destruction of public buildings was concocted. Berlin, April 22. The stringency of the German laws against the Anarchists is being increased. Sofia, April 23. Fourteen dynamite bombs have been discovered in Kuschtock, which, it is believed, indicate a fresh attack on public men by Bulgarian refugees.
