J London, April 21. The total quantity of wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 3,000,000 quarters, and for the Continent 1,290,000 quarters. The American visible wheat supply is estimated at 56,400,000 bushels. Wool is firm, and competition active. New Zealand 4 per cent, inscribed stock, 102 ; 4£ per cent, ditto, 93J. New Zealand long-berried wfyeat « weaker at 395, Canterbury frozen mutton, 4|d per lb,; lamb, 6d ; Wellington mutton, 4|d. New Zealand hemp—Quotations are ■ unaltered. South Australian wheat is flat at 39a 8d \ | and Viptoriap restricted at 39s 3d- For Australian pargoes of wheat on passage sellers ask’ 37s fld ; buyers offer 35s Gd. Potatoes, ex Tainui, from New Zealand; have arrived in poor condition. At the wool sales crossbreds are improving. April 23. England accepts the proposal for a Monetary Conference in America, if it is limited to a discussion of the enlarged use of silver ; hut not if free coinage is to be debated, Wool is firm, Continental buyers livery active. number of cases «>f desiccated apples from Auckland. The packages used were not regular bushel cases. 1400 cases were sold at Covent Garden at from 5s to 10s per case. April 24. The wool market is firm, with a hardening tendency.
