hire for the carriage of passengers both within the said District or places beyond and within the said District. 45. To appoint the sums to be paid for licenses for vehicles issued by the said Board. 46. To provide for the inspection of all vehicles licensed by the said Board, and to prevent the use of such as are unsafe or insufficient. 47. To regulate the number of passengers which may be carried in licensed vehicles, and to prevent such number being exceeded. 48. To prescribe the lights to be carried by public or private vehicles in the said district, and the position on the vehicle. 49. To provide for the licensing of drivers of vehicles for the carriage of passengers in the said district. 50. To appoint the sum to be paid for licenses to drivers issued by the said Board. 51. To prevent misconduct on the part of drivers of any vehicle within the said District. 52. To provide for the licensing of pedlars and hawkers, to fix the sums payable to the said Board for such licenses, and to prohibit any persons from trading as pedlars or hawkers not being licensed by the said Board. 52. To regulate the carrying of loaded firearms and dangerous weapons, and to prevent the discharge of firearms within the said District.
