THE CHINESE IN SYDNEY.

Sydney, March!. The operations of the Chinese secret society which has just been unearthed are causing serious apprehension. It is called the Long Lee Long. On Wednesday the police frustrated a plot devised by the members to attack their opponents, but another is threatened in the small hours of to-morrow morning. The police are making preparations in case the threat is carried out, at if it is, it is expected to be of a bloodthirsty character. The members of the society come from the most ferocious districts in China. The reward offered for the assassination of their victim is said to have been increased to £2OO. At a meeting of the leading Chinese a society was formed to preserve peace and maintain order.
