The second firing in connection with the Geraldine Rifles Medal Handicap came off' at the Geraldine butts on Thursday afternoon according to the regulations already published in this paper. Th.B weather was dull at the commencement, and a light breeze blew across tha range, and when the final range was tired the men had the sun staring them in their faces. Bandsman Stonehouse shot well till the 500 yards range was reached, and it looked as though he would be the likely winnner, but he fell off in the 500 yards, and Bugler Burridge, who had fired well all along came off victorious with 42 points to his credit, including his handicap. The following are the scores: — 200 300 500

The C Batteiy, Timaru, drive out to Geraldine on Thursday next, and a match will take place between them and a team from the Geraldine corps. Firing will commence at 2 p.m. at Government targets. The Geraldine Rifle Parades in itlarch will be held on the 10th and 24th instead of the 17th and 31st.
