GERALDINE ROAD BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the above was held yesterday. Present—Messrs Flatman (chairman), Brophy, and Metcalf.
COItKESPONDENCE. Correspondence was read and dealt with as under :
From Mr D. Macdonald., applying for permission to make a crossing to his land on the Geraldine Downs, there being a ditch on the road; also asking the board to have the lower branches of trees on his reserve cut.—The board will trim the few trees near the plantation gate, Mr Macdonald to pay for pipes required for crossing, and the board will supply in putting them down. /■
From the Commissioner of Crown Lands, acknowledging receipt of plans of proposed road works, which will be laid before the Land Board,
From the Receiver of Land Revenue, advising that £l9O 15s Id had been lodged in the Bank of New South Wales, being thirds derived from sections.
From Messrs Shcrratt & Newport, asking for an extension of one week for their contract in making a bridge, the holidays and weather having prevented - its completion.—Board may consider the application when the contract is finished. From the Clerk of tha Geraldine County Council, asking if th& "board would undertake to get. done what is required to make the approach to the Orari bridge sheep proof > and charge same to the Council.

Tenders were revived as follows :—No. 347—Formation and Shingling at Four Peaks : T. Sugrue, £l7 (accepted). No. 348—For reserve 2717, Belfield: F. Rates, £2O p Q p annum.; E. Tavener, £2l per by Mr Brophy, seconded by Mr Metcrdf, and carried — r" That as Mr Tavener has been a tenant; , of the board for the lust five years, and 1: has been a good tenant, his tender accepted for the reserve." overseer's report, Tl.iq overseer reported as follows :—> " Contracts ; No. 345, formation,, &c, Tagg's road, has been completed since last meeting and passed for payment. No. 346, bridges,, Beautiful Valley Gorge, are in a forward state, and will be finished in about one weok from date. The time expired on the 2Gth of last month. The contractor has been slightly delayed by wet weather. Mr Kimbell's application : [ This is for an extension of Tagg's road aa i far as Mr Kimbell's boundary fence. There is one deep gully requiring a culvert, and a few chains of sideling formation required to allow of a dray being taken up to the bush. The cost would be about £—. As directed I invited tenders for reserve 2717, Belfield,/ V.S., and also for a short length of road formation near Four Peaks station. General Rate: A few summonses were issued for overdue rates, but were in f 7 every cage settled out of court. The balance of this year's rate outstanding is £3 14s Od, part of which is owing by
absentees. Small birds: The expenditure for heads and eggs this season, so far, has been £45 14s 2d. They are still coming slowly. Day men : Two of the men have left for the harvest, leaving one for odd jobs as may be required.—l have, &c, " Wm. Shiers, " Overseer."
The overseer's report was considered satisfactory. Mr Kimbell's application was deferred for consideration till next meeting of the board, and it was agreed to issue further summonses for rates outstanding. It was also decided to discontinue the purchase of birds' eggs after the 14th of this month. ACCOUNTS. Accounts amounting to £ll3 were passed for payment. The Ijoard then rose.
