CHRISTCHURCH STOCK MARKETS

At the Addington yards on Wednp.sday the attendance was quite up to the average, and the sale, taken all through its departments, was very successful. Store Sheep—There s a large entry The demand was, if anything, keener than ever. Two-tooth crossbreds sold at froni 10s 4d to 12s 8d ; a line of station crossbred ewes, two-tooths, 12s 4d to 12s 7d ; crossbred lambs 8s to 9a 7d; merino wethers Ss to fig JOd; crossbred ewes, mixed ages, 8s lid. Fat Lambs—Th» ontiy was very large, and all good sorts sold well from 11s to 13s lOd. Fat Sheep— The entry was large, and the #gle was not concluded till after five o’clock. JPyices were fuHy equal to late quotations, and f,he demand throughout was good. Crossbred others fetched up to 16s, ewes to 14a 6d, merino withers to 13s 2d, ewes to 12s. Fat G.a,tt]e—A fair entry met with a dull sale, several lines being passed out unsold. Best bullocks realised from £6 to £6 15s, cows £4 to £5 IQs, heifers £4 to £6, . Store Cattle—The demand was far in excess of supply. Every animal entered was sold. Mixed cattle, rising two years old, brought £2 12s 6d. Two-year-and-a half olds sold at from £3 10s to £4. Dairy Cattle—The entry was small, but the demand was slightly better than at the previous sale. Best cows brought £5 10s to £6. Pigs—A small o-li.y sold remarkably well. Stores brought from 12s to 16s; porkers, 17s 6d to 23s 5 bacon pigs to 325.
