Adelaide, Dec. 23. Wheat, new, 4s 7d; old, 4s 9d. Flour, stone made, £lO to £lO 15s; roller, £lolss to £ll ss. Oats, New Zealand, 2s 3d to 2s 4d : barley, 2s 9d to 3s 3d; English malting, 3s 4d to 4s 3d. Bran, dull, at Is Id; pollard is also dull at Is Id.
! DUNEDIN PRODUCE MARKETS.
The following is the report for the week ending Wednesday : Wheat—The market is firm with a slightly better demand for pihne velvet; medium less attention ; inferior in good demand. Prices are well maintained. Quotations for best milling velvet 5s to 5s 3d, best Tuscan 4s lid to ss, medium to good 4s 6d to 4s lOd, inferior to medium 3s lOd to 4s sd, broken 2s to 3s.
Oats—A moderate business is passing for very superior lots. Slight advances on last week's quotations are occasionally secured, otherwise there is no alteration to note. Quotations for best milling Is B*d to Is B£d, best short bright feed Is 8d to Is B£d, medium to good Is 7d to Is 7|d, inferior Is 4d to Is 6£d (exstore, sacks extra net cash; fd per bushel f.0.b., Dunedin). B ar l e y —a few parcels could be placed for feed at quotations, but very little is offering. Best malting nominal 2s lOd to 3s, medium 2s 7d to 2s 9d, feed and milling 2s 4d to 2s 6d (ex store, sacks ext a terms.)
DUNEDIN STOCK MARKETS,
At the Burnside Market on Tuesday the following business was transacted:—
Fat Cattle—On Tuesday 128 head were yarded: best bullocks brought £8 5s to £9 10s, extra heavy £lO ss, medium to good £6 2s 6d, light weights £4 2s 6d to £6, best cows £6los to £7l2s 6d, medium £4 10s to £5 17s 6d, light £2 17s 6d to £4 7s 6d,
Fat Sheep—lo 32 were penned, all shorn crossbreds, the greater portion wethers. Good to prime showed no improvement in prices. Best crossbreds wethers brought 13s to 14s, a few show sheep 16s 6d, ordinary lis to 12s 9d, best do ewes 12s 3d to 13s, medium 7s 9d to lis 6d. ENGLISH MARKETS. London, Dec. 23. The total quantity of wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 2,660,00*0 quarters, and for the Continent 1,672,000. Money is advancing owing to the continued withdrawals of gold for export. The American visible wheat supply is estimated at 64,000,000 bushels. Dec. 25.
Four hundred bales of New Zealand hemp were sold at a slight advance on last rates.
For New Zealand long-berried wheat there is a restricted business at 45s 3d. For off-coast cargoes sellers ask 42.8 9d, but buyers will not give more than 42s 3d.
Canterbury frozen mutton 4jd per lb. Beef, hindquarters, 3d. Oats, 29s 6d. South Australian wheat is quiet at 45s 9d, and Victorian flat at 455.
