GERALDINE COUNTY COUNCIL. SPECIAL ORDER. AT A SPECIAL MEETING of the Council of the County held on the 25th. day of November, 185)1, resolutions (passed at an ordinary meeting of the Council held the same day) were adopted of which the object or purprot is as follows : 1. To Repeal By-law No, 2 relating to Traction Engines made by the Council on the loth day of April, 1886. 2. To make and ordain certain Bylaws set out in the Special Order for regulating the conditions upon which Traction Engines and Carriages, and Waggons attached thereto, may be allowed to pass along the public roads and bridges in the County, The said resolutions will be confirmed at a Meeting of the Council, to be held on the sixth day of January, 185)2, at 11 a.m., and the Special Order will take effect from and come into force on the twenty-fifth day of January, 185)2. A copy of the said Special Order is and will remain open forinspection by the public at the Council’s Offices, Timaru, during office hours until the date of the said meeting. AT A SPECIAL MEETING of the Council of the County of Geraldine, held in the Council’s Office on Wednesday, November 25th, 1891, the following Resolution making a SPECIAL ORDER was passed:— That this Council, in pursuance of the powers vested in it by “ The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1886,” that this Council do make and levy a Special Annual Recurring Rate of One Halfpenny (Ad) in the (£) pound for each year, commencing from the first lay of January and end ing on 81st dav of December, on the rateable value of all property within the limits of that portion of the County of Geraldine called or known as the “ Englarged Waitohi Flat Water Supply District,” to provide the interest and annual charges upon an authorised loan of (£8000) three thousand pounds, raised by the Council under the provisions of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for the purpose of constructing special public works, consisting of Water-races, within such portion or district exclusively. Such rate to come into force on the first day of February, 1392, and to be payable in one sum—on the first day of Mav in each year, for a period of twenty-six vears, until the said loan is paid off. This Special Order is to take effect on the Ist day of February. 1892, and will be confirmed at a Meeting of the Geraldine County Council to be held on WEDNESDAY, the 6th day of January, 1892.
