The Baptist Conference,— The report of the Baptists’ Conference shows that the number of adult members in the colony is 2885, an increase of 332 during the year. The local preachers number 75; Sunday school teachers, 508; and scholars 471(1. The revenue from all parts was 70 per cent higher than for the previous year, but closed with a small deficit. At the public meeting on Tuesday night, in connection with the conference, a resolution was passed, sympathising with the Eev. Mr Spurgeon, and congratulating him on his recovery.
