One of the largest and most valuable pearls ever found in the Australian colonies was obtained a few months since by Messrs Norman and Robison, at the pearling grounds in Western Australia. It is a large “ button” pearl, weighing 28 carats, and is perfect both in color and shape. It is difficult to estimate its value, but it may be mentioned that Mr Hollman, the resident partner of the firm in Western Australia, refused £SOO cash for the gem. It was accordingly sent to Mr W. Robison, of Sussex-street, who is the Sydney partner, and who intends to send the pearl to the London mar- j ket unless he cap obtain £IOOO for it iii Sydney, 1
