Sydney, Nov. 10. Blight has made its appearance among the potato crops in the Lismore district. A heavy thunderstorm was experienced inland yesterday. A man named King was killed by lightning at Peake Hill and two others seriously injured. Telegraphic communication with the the southern colonies was completely interrupted. •' Melbourne, Nov 10. A number of Russian Jews have arrived here. The race for the Amateur Sculling Championship of Victoria took place on the lower Yarra yesterday, and was won by Mr W. Bridson (of the Wellington Rowing Club), the representative of the Amateur Rowing Association, The other competitors wereMcßae of Sydney, Ritchie and Gow of Tasmania, Aimley, Scheider, and J. Watters of Victoria. A good start was effected, and the New Zealander at once dashed off with the lead, which he steadily increased to the finish, winning by three lengths. Time 20min 50sec.
