Melbourne, Nov. 10. At the wool sales now in progress the demand is active for good to superior merinos, and all descriptions of crossbreds elicited lively competition. Good greasy merinos, lid; superior greasy do, superior scoured, Is sjd. The " latter is the top price of the season. ENGLISH MARKETS. London,' Nov. 7. Large blocks of colonial stocks are unsaleable. Prices are weakening. Otago Harbour Board debentures fell £6, and are now quoted at 82. Oaniaru municipal stock fell £6. Tallow, medium mutton, 26s ; beef,2ss. The total arrivals of wool up to date number 65,000 bales, and with the quantity held over from last sales, 126,000 . bales ..will be available at the ensuing aeries. The Statist points out that the exports of New South Wales and Victoria are not keeping peace with their borrowing, and observes that it-is imprudent at present to forestall a great future.
