New Yobk, Oct. 24. Four of the strongest ships in the United States navy have been despatched to Valparaiso. Oct. 26. Details of the outrage comiriitted on sailors belonging to the American warship Baltimore at Valparaiso show that one hundred Chilians dragged one of the blue jackets off the tram car, and shot him dead. Seven others were severely injured by bayonet stabs, including one of the officers, while thirty-five were imprisoned. Valpapaiso, Oct. 26. Mr Egan, United States Minister in Chili, demands that the refugees in the American Legation shall be conducted safely from the country, but the Chilian Government refuse to accede to this request, on the ground that among the refugees are a number of criminals.
