A PUBLIC MEETING of the Ratepayers iii the Waitohi Flat Water Supply District will be held in the Schoolroom, Waitohi Flat, on FRIDAY, Oct. 30th, 1891, at 7.30 p.m. For the purpose of considering' and dis- , cussing the proposal'of the Geraldine ‘ County Council to Borrow the sum of £3OOO under the “ Local Bodies Loans Aot, 1886,” for the purpose of constructing Irrigation Works within the Waitohi Flat Water Supply District. It will be due from Rangitata at 11.20 a.m,, Orari, 11.36, Winchester, 11.47, Temuka, 11,58, arriving at Timaru at 12.30 p.m. It will stop at flag stations if required, but will not work goods traffic. There will be a train from Rangitata to Timaru on the morning of the 28th, instead of from Orari, as on Saturdays. The afternoon train from Timaru wEI run to Ashburton instead of to Orari; it will start at 5.35 p.m., and run 2 hours 30 minutes later than timetable times. THE NORTH EXPRESS TRAIN on the 28th WILL NOT TAKE PASSENGERS from Timaru for TEMUKA and ORARI. as room cannot be provided for them in that train ; they must travel by the 5-35 p.m. train. On the 29th the afternoon train from Timaru to Orari will start at 5.35 p.m., and hours later than timetable times. Return tickets to Timaru from stations within 20 miles distance,issued from 26th to 28th OCTOBER, will be available for return till the 30th. 0c22 BY ORDER.
NEW ZEALAND RAILWAYS. A. .& P. SHOW AT ASHBURTON, OCTOBER 30th. ON the 30th October there will be a TRAIN at 11.55 a.m. from Timaru to Ashburton, as on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and A RETURN TRAIN, which will leave the Saleyards Siding (opposite to the Show Grounds) at 5.15 p.m., and Ashburton at 5.35 p.m., running 1 hour 45 minutes later than the times of the Afternoon Train from Ashburton on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. A TRAIN will leave Ashburton at 11 a.m., by which Passengers from South can go out to the Saleyards Siding (for the Show Grounds). Fares from Ashburton, Gd and 4d. 0c24 BY ORDER.
