The Government estimate of the American wheat crop is 590,000,000 bushels. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following cable advice from their London office, dated 13th October:— The wheat market is firm but inactive. New Zealand wheat f.a.q. is worth c.i.f. to arrive 41s per 4801 b. New Zealand wheat average and longberried are worth respectively 42s 6d and |44s 6d per 49Glb Oct. 14. The total quantity of wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 1,824,000 quarters, and for the Continent 2,260,000 quarters. Bank of New Zealand shares, new issue, £7 10s.
