' Port Chalmers, Oct. 3. * Arrived Taranaki, ship, Captain Gordon, 100 days from London. She 'experienced heavy weather- in running down the easting. On August 29th Mr Dry, 2nd officer, and William Matthew, Carpenter, while engaged in furling the main-top-sail fell from the yard overboard. Mr Dry was picked up slightly bruised, but although ropes and life buoys were thrown by Captain Gordon, the carpenter took no notice of them and Bank under the vessel's quarter. It is supposed ho must have struck himself in the fall.
