SPORTING.
GERALDINE RACES. If the present fresh and lovely spring weather continues, race-goers should have a “good time” of it at the Geraldine Spring Meeting to-morrow and Thursday. Excellent acceptances and entries have been received, and every promise is given of exceptionally large fields in some of the events. Special interest will centre round the District Stakes, in which fourteen local youngsters will start. The field for the Cup, though not large, contains the elements of a splendid race, and the winner xs most difficult to pick. The first race each day is timed to start at 1 o’clock, and as all business establishments in Geraldine will close at noon both days there will be ample time for . those desirous of being present at the
first race. Victoria EL has been scratched fe for the first day’s Trot, * The following “tips” by our “crack sporting demon” for the first day’s racing should not prove far out: — Squatters’ Handicap —Lady Zetland. Cup —Coinage. Flying —Carronade. BeXiField —Kilmarnock or Mailboy. Selling —Miss Ann. Trot —Sissy or Our Pony, District Stakes —Morpheus or Victim.
