At the A.J.C. Spring Meeting at Sydney on Thursbay, the Second Hurdles was won by Grandson, the Craven Plate by Marvel, the Suburban Handicap by Hero, Second Foal Stakes by Oxide, Wifcombe Stakes by Baugebak, and Sydney Handicap by Cobham.
