GERALDINE SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The monthly meeting of the above was held on Tuesday evening last. Present— Messrs R H. Pearpoint (chairman), Shiera, White, Riordan, and Williams. HEAD master’s REPORT. The head master reported the attendance to be 220, and the roll number to be 275. Repairs were required to maps in the school. The framework of the gallery was lying outside the building, and, Jk a post was required beside the large gate. It was resolved to have maps repaired, and that other repairs stand over. IRREGULAR ATTENDANCE. The question of irregular attendance at the school was again brought up, and the names of the parents of 29 children, who were not attending regularly, were, put into a hat, and the first six drawn out were ordered to be summoned. CORRESPONDENCE. A letter was received from the head master, renewing his ' application for tv change of residence, which would brin^
him nearer the - school. ' He considered that if his residence was £close to the school he could serve the board much better. It was decided to forward the letter to the Board of Education with a favourable recommendation. ACCOUNTS. Accounts amounting to £5 17s were passed for payment. VISITING COMMITTEE. Messrs Maslin and Riordan were appointed visiting committee for the ensuing month. The meeting then terminated.
