GAPES’S VALLEY CONCERT.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—Would you kindly insert this , letter in your valuable paper re the late concert at Gapes’s Valley, where Mr Gapes asked the chairman,Mr Dunlop, to propose a vote of thanks to Mrs Love, and to Mrs Love alone the success of the concert was due. Now, sir, Mr Gapes would only have been doing his duty if he had got up on the platform when the chairman called on some - of the committee to say something about the school, he being the oldest man in the 1 committee. He had alright to get on the platform and propose that vote himself. I think it would have been more gentlemanly if he had included Mrs Bray with the vote of thanks; he would not have been doing too much, as that lady did her best at this concert, and has done her best at previous concerts, to make it a success, both with goods and money. Not to mention her was a shame on the committee.— * 1 am, &0., R. P. Wells.
