During the past one hundred years the members of a certain family in Paris have all closed their lives by suicide. Each body, as it was conveyed to the morgue, had a plain gold rimg on a finger of the left hand. This plain ring has passed from father to. son, from mother to daughter, and the attendants at the morgue called it “ The Fatal Eing.”A few months ago it made its appearance on the finger of. a young man—the last of the race. As there was no claimant of the body on this occasion, the ring was buried with the corpse.
