WANDERERS (GERALDINE) V. DARKTOWN (TEMUKA). This match came off on Thursday afternoon on the Geraldine Domain and ended in a decisive victory for the Wanderers by. 12 points (3 goals and 3 tries) to one point. During the first spell the visiting team played two men short, but the vacancies were filled at halftime by some Geraldine players. The teams were about evenly matched in the forwards, but the backs of the visitors were very poor,. Spillane kicked off for Darktown, and H. Morrison securing the leather ran right through the visitors and touched down near the corner flag. The kick at gaol did not further enhance the score, the ball going a little wide. Fish, who played a brilliant game throughout secured the rest of the tries for the Wanderers. For the visitors Morton, Carr, Rodgers, Lee, and Bradley were the pick of the team, the last named securing the only try. White, Colbert, Leversedge, Morrison, Stringer, and Fish showed up well for the home team. Messrs W. Stonehouse and E. Smith acted as line umpires, while Mr R. Morrison carried the referees whistle, giving general satisfaction. LINWOOD V. TEMUKA. The annual match, between the Linwood and Temuka Clubs took place at Lancaster Park on Thursday afternoon. It was not witnessed by many people, the counterattractions of the day militating against the attendance. The gound was in good order, and the weather beautiful, if a trifle warm for the players. The Rev, J. Hoatson acted as referee. Anderson captained the visitors, who won the toss, and Hobbs kicked off for Linwood, who played the first spell with the sim in their •eyes. The game was splendidly played, and «nded as follows: —Linwood 1 goal and 3 tries (6 points), to Temuka 2 goals one of which was a penalty* (5 points).
