ABov Suicide.—A sad suicide occurred at Prahran, Victoria, on Saturday, the 18th inst., /when .Frederick Wallace Mathers,, 12 years, .met.his; death, by |his own:,hand. On Friday, the, boy ;stayed out till after 9 o'clock. His mother asked him where he hadbeen, also where he. had got the.money to buy fruit, which he had; brought ,home. (The.- boy stated he had been out, with another boy who had .given him money. The father threatened to see the employer o| the boy who, had given his son the, money. • iYoung Mathers "replied, that his friend had 4pne no harm, and it would be a shame to tell his master and get him into trouble: He appeared angry and excited. He then• went upratairs,: and-i a'few, minutes later his father h.eard.a repprt^and,rushing into the hall, found his son lying,with a revolver in his hand. ,The boy had, gone into his father's bedroom, taken a revolver,; come into the hall, placed the muzzle in! his mouth, and deliberately pulled the; trigger. Heneverregained'consciousness,' anc[ [died sqme hpm*s later. ) The boy > was; bright and intelligent, and more -'than; usually affectionate. .
