AUCTIONEERS’ REPORT. Messrs Gracie, Maclean, and Co. report for the past fortnight, as follows : Horses —-• At the Tiraaru horse bazaar on the 25th ult. our entry was small, and only a few inferior sorts changed hands. OnSaturdaythere was a decided improvement in the| number and quality of our entry, and also the amount of business done. We sold for Mr M. O’Brien (Oamaru) 6 draughts at from £l4 14s to £23 10s, for Mr W. Martin (Oamaru) 5 light horses at from, £7 .to £l7, and for sundry owners 10 draughts at up to £26. Sheep—The demand for prime fat sheep still continues brisk, and, as nearly all the lines of this class are being sold privately, the eutries at both Newmarket and Washdyke yards are consequently small. Well-forward young stores are much enquired for, but only, a few small lines are offering. At the, above yards we sold 50 2-tooths at 11s 15s lid, 60 ewes at Bs, 64 merino wethers at 8s 9d, 320 crossbred ewes and wethers at 14s 6d to 14s 9d. We have also sold privately 270 crossbred ewes in lamb, 315 fat crossbred ewes, and 660 freezers. Cattle—There is but little, doing in fat cattle at present, and nothing in stores. At Newmarket we sold 7 , fat heifers at £4 15s, 1 cow pt £5 15s, 5 cows at £2 7s 6d, 1 heifer at £5 6s, and privately 21 fat bullocks and heifers," Sheepskins. Wool, &c.—At our usual sale on Wednesday there was a full attendance of buyers.. and prices realised were.the best this season. We catalogued and sold 1212 skins, 12 bales and 17 bags wool. Best crossbred skins sold at from 5s 3d to 6s 3d, medium 3s 6d to ,4s 9d, light Is 6d to 2a 6d, best merino 4s 9d,to 5s 3d. Privately we have placed 11,192 factory skins at full rates. Wool—4 bales trimmings at fadge dead wool at s|d, bales trimmings at 4d, 1 do pieces at 4£d, 1 do do at 1 do do at 4d, bags at quotations.
