TIMARU MARKETS. ' The N.Z. Millers’, Association report on the produce market for; the week as under Wheat Very; little '.offering, and millers are all well stocked. Pollard—£3 15s.

AUCTIONEERS’ REPORT. Messrs J. Munclell and C 0.,, report sales for the week ending Saturday, 11th'July, 1891 During the week business, .has,been good in the live stock ppth at auction and privately. We have to report an advance of Is 6d per head all round in sheep. Pleasant Point Sale—On Monday at this yard a moderate entry of stock came under the hammer, consisting principally of three-quarter-bred, twotooths. and old merino ewes. The chief feature of the sheep sale was a line of 111 three-quarter-bred, wethers and maiden ewes, two-todth, which were sold by us on account of Messrs Grr and Co., Waitohi, which were marvels of early maturity, and sold under keen competition at 19s 8d for .the line.

At the Gerfildine Live Stock Market on Wednesday the yarding consisted of 2890 sheep, 45 cattle, and 35 pigs. Prices realised during the sale were 1 Sheep—Three-quarter-bred wethers and maidens, twp and fouivtopths, 15s 6d, 16s, to 32s ; merino wethers, fat, 11s 6d. ; three-quarter-bred hoggets, 10s, 6d to 10 lOd; merino ewes in lamb, 5s sd, 6s, to 6s 9d, Cattle—Cows, fat, £4 10s, £5, £6, to £6 ss; cows, springing, £2 10s to £3 10s ; two-year-old steers and heifers, £1 to £1 6s; yearling steers and heifers, 12s 6d to,£l. Pigs Baconprs, £1 4s; strong stores, 12s 6d to 15s; weaners' 5s to 5s 6d. Clearing Sale—On account of Mr F. W. Badham we conducted a clearing sale of hind, live, and dead stock. There was a large attendance and ( a most satisfactory clearance was the result. The Buhner farm of 156 acres 3 roods, was secured by Joseph Lewis at £l7 ids per acre. The Esingitata farm was passed at auction, but negotiations; are iiow pending, and we hope to be in a position to report the sale of this farm in a few days. The sheep, cattle, horses, implements,, furniture, grain, etc., were eagerly competed for, and high prices were the 1 order of the day. Messrs Gracie, Maclean, and Co. report ,for the .past fortnight, as follows Horses,— At the Timaru Horse Bazaar, our entries of both draught and light horses have consisted prinpipally of second and third-class sorts, for which there is little, demand, .while, ibr. young land, sound draughts suitable for farm work there are plenty at;gpod prices. Our sales are—for medium to good draughts, £ls to , £23 10s,; „ inferior .and aged, £6 tp Hacks—-iVletUum, £|f 5 10 s to £ls ; light and weedy, £3, to £6. , Sheep—-At. Pleasant Point on Monday*there was a large entry of really good sheep, and nearly the whole yarding changed hands , at, prices in advance of any realised this season. \y'e,sold 2-tooth wethers and ewes at 13s 6jd to 16s sd, crossbred hoggets at 10s 7d to 10s 9d. Cattle—Tliere is a slightly better demand for fat cattle for , the local trade, but stores are almost unsaleable. At Pleasant Point we sold fat cows at £4 5s to £5,. and at Washdyke fat heifers and cows at £4 2s 6d to £6 10s, equal to 18s per 1001 b. ' pigs—Only a few offering; we sold slipsl at 9s 6d, Sheepskins—At our regular sale on, Wednesday, with the usual number of buyers, prices, werpj much the same as at the previous sale. We catalogued and sold 1100 at—for best crossbreds, 4s 9d to 5s 6d; 'medium, 3s Od to 4s 6d ; .light.,do, ls.;3d ■ to, 2sJ>d.-!' have also disposed of 4500 factory skins at,dull rates. . . .. ; I’JtOI’KRTY. On 27th June, we sold bn account of the Messrs Lovegrove 004 acres, known as Castlcrock Farm, Totara Valley, to Mr Gidppn Eutherford, of Kakanui, at; £5 per acre. ENGLISH MARKETS. London,, July 9. New Zealand, long-berried wheat, 425. For cargpps on passage, sellers ask 40s; buyers offer 39s 6d. Canterbury mutton, 4|d; lamb, sd; beefj hindquarters, 4|d. : The meat market is glutted, and 250,000 carcases of mutton are stored in London.
