CONCERT AT WINCHESTER.

A concert in aid of the incidental ftmd of the above school was held in the'Public Hall, on Menday evening. There was a very large attendance, Mr &.. W. Ensor took the chair and introduced the various singers. The Misaea Gimson opened the performance with a nicely executed pianoforte duet. Mr A. Cox won rounds of applause for his rendering of the song ' Little Scrub,' and also, ' That little Vulgar Boy,' in the second part. Mrs F. Barker won the audience by her rendering of ' Needles and Fins,' and in response to an encore sang * Tanity.' This lady ateo sang 'Queen of my Heart' in the second part very successfully. Mr McCarthy's reading, entitled ' The Outwitted Landlord,' was thoroughly enjoyed, as was the Hon, Air Sucklethumpkin's Story in the second part. Mrs Barker and Miss Cox were deservedly applauded for their rendition of the duet' Tell me where do Fairies dwell," and later on the duet ' Where the warbling waters Flow.' Mr McCarthy June, contributed two violin bolob 'The Bohemian Girl,' and ' The Harp that once thro Tara's Halls' in a masterly manner, affording a musical treat, Miss Crimson accompanying on the piano. Miss Crimson sang' The meeting of the Waters,' very nicely. Mr Clinch brought down the house with the comic song 'A Nobleman's Son,' and im response to a not to be denied encore sang' I'll never make a Gentleman of yeu John.' In the second part Mr Clinch was equally successful with 1 John the Masher.' Miss F. Guy sang ' A Summer Flower,' which was one of the gems of the evening, and won considerable applause. Mr J. T. Kennedy's appearance was the signal for applause, and his rendition of ' Ballyhooly' was capital, in response to an encore he gave ' A bakers shop on a Sunday.' In the second part Mr Kennedy again delighted his audience with ' Killaloe,' and in response to an encore sang ' I say will you ever go home.' Mr Kennedy's " get up " was sufficient to create reunds of applause. Mr McCaskill sang ' The Parson and the Clark,' nnd « No Ring I Trow,' in good style. At the conclusion Mr Ensor thanked the performers for their kindness in coming a distance to assist them. The Misses Quinn, Gimson, and Guy, and Mr lnwood, deserve thanks for playing the accompaniments. At the conclusion a very successf ull ball was held, about 40 couples attending-
