AUCTIONEERS’ REPORT. TIMARU. Messrs Grade, Maclean--and' Co. report for the past fortnight as -follows:

Horses—Our entries for the last two sales have been small, owing, no doubt, to the fact that every available draught horse in the diatrictis called into requisition for ploughing and preparing land for wheat. There is a good demand for y'oiing draughts, and any comidg to hand far sonie time to come will meet with a good market. .The demand for lighthouses of inferior description now offeribg is very limited. We have sold medium to .good drallghtsat from £l2 to £23, inferior and aged at £6 to £lO, Hacki— Medium, £8 to £11; light and weedy, £3 to £6. Sheep Stores in backward condition have suffered a decline in' valde, but sheep ’weU foi'ward. ip condition .up to. prime fat are in. brisk demand, .and with tho exception l ofthe lattler ■i class very, few :lines have changed hands lately- We sold 150 crossbred ewes in lamb’ at 10s 3d, 62 hoggets kt Bs, 200 ekres and wethers at 15s 3d, 160 fat awes, at 12s to 12s 7d, add privately 3000 freezers. Cattle— We have again to report a small business doing in fat or store cattle. We sold at auction dry coVrs at 20s to 42s 6d, milkers at £2r TOs to £4 ss; calves at 10s to 12s 6d, and privately We disposed Of 40 head of fat cattle.

Sheepskins, &c. — At our regular sale on Wednesday, there was the usual number of buyers prisseht, but prices were barely equal to the previous sale. We catalogued and sold 1100 skins; best crossbreds realised dis" 3d to ss, medium 8s to 4s; light Is 6d to 2s 6d, best merinos, 8s to 4s Bd, medium 2s to 2s 9d, and privately 3600 factory skins at full rates. We also sold 7 bales and 20 bags locks and pieces. The Tug TitaU i —At our rooms today we offered on behalf of the' Timatu Harbor Board, the p.s. Titaa, with all her appliances, but after £l7O had been offered she was bought in at the board’s bid of £2OO.

OHBIBTGHURCH CORN EXCHANGE. The following is the Corn Exchange report (per N. P. Meyers, Secretary), for the week ending Friday; June 19th - The gram market for the week has been without any visible alteratioh, cereals of all kinds meeting with very little enquiry. Wheat, for good linds, commands some slight attention at former rates, chick sorts not so eagerly sought. Oats can be placed if godd milling, while feed sorts are almoist neglected. Barley The only lines enquired for are first-class malting, kt rates as under. Peas and beans remain unaltered either as to demand hr value. Potatoes, we are sorry to say, show no appreciable improvement, prices being merely nominal. Daiiy produce also continues without animktieu. Altogether the market throughout is without doubt considerably depressed. Quotations are as follow Wheat—Tuscan, 4s 2d to 4s 3d; pearl, 4s to 4s Id; hunters, 3s ICd te 4s.

Oats—Milling, Is 9d to Is 10d; short feed, Is Bd, Is lOd, to 2s ; inferior sorts, Is 6d. - Barley—Malting, 3s to 3s 2d; feed, Is lOd to 2s. Beans —2s 8d to 2s 9d. Peas —3s (hand threshed); feed, 2s 6d.

Potatoes—l7s 6d to 20s ; at’country stations-

Dairy Produce—Unaltered. The above prices are those paid tp farmers for delivery, f.0.b., Lyttelton, sacks 6s 6d per dozen. KUraLISH MARKETS. L Oumov, June 18. Wool is unchanged, June 20. New Zealand long-berried wheat is quiet at 42a 6d. Sellers of off-coas|t cargoes are asking 42s 6d, but buyers will net give more than 425. Canterbury mutton, 4£d per lb I; Wellington, 4d. Canterbury lamb, 6d; beef, hindquarters, sd, forequarters 3^d, New Zealand hemp, good quality, £22 5s per ton. Adelaide wheat ia weaker at 48s 6d, Victorian is also weaker at 42s 6d.
