A DAUGHTER OP GEORGE IV.
A sensational story was made public on May 20th, to the effect that a woman named Caroline Matilda Guelph had bean discovered in Camberwell workhouse who claims to be a daughter of George IV. Shei js an inmate of the common wards, one declares that she was born on January 16th, 1816. four year* before the accession of George IV. She seen the certificate of her birth giving the name of George, “ Keffent, as her father. She did not know her mother’s surname. There is no doubt her mother was a German, and died during Caroline infancy. At Norfolk once. one. of the daughters ef the Prince of Wales, called and questioned her elosely, and when she departed she left hor a small sum of money. Prinee Albert Victor, who accompanied her sister, urged her to leave £IOO, but she declinced to do so. The oldrlady insists that she is the legitimate daughter of King George, and is indignant at her treatment by his descendants.
