THE RATE ROLLS.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—Now that the licensing elections are in full swing it is time that ratepayers in this county saw that their names were on the licensing roll, or when they go to the poll like me they will find it is not on it. I went to the Raukapukn licensing election to vote, and found my name not on the roll. Now, sir, I always find that my name appears alright on the road board rate roll, property tax roll, and' harbor board and charitable aid bmrd rolls. Now, sir, my number is 578 on the property tax roll, clear and legible, in the road board office, Geraldine, and at 4 o’clock there was about 50 that could not vote because their name was not bn the roll. Who is at to defraud and take the right from so many people to vote. . Please, Mr Editor, reply in next issue.—l am, etc.; B; P. Wells. Greeridale Farm, May 25,1891, [We have not the slightest, idea as to who is in fault. We have no means of knowing.— Ed.] ,
