The Canterbury Farmers' Association, Limited, report as under: — Wheat —During the last week the rrarket has been very dull owing to the entire absence of speculation, but during the last two days several lots have changed hands and buyers are enquiring again. Present values areTuscan from 3s lid to 4s Id, velvet and pearl 3a lid to 4?, red chaff 3s 9d to 3a lid, whole fowl wheat 8s to 3s 4d, seconds 3s to 3s 3d. Oats—There is a good demand for all sorts, and any lots offering at the following prices are being sold:— Canadians Is 7d to Is Bd, seed tartar* ! Is 6d to Is 7d, bright heavy danish Is s|d to Is 6£d, discolored Is 4d to Is sd, inferior Is 3d to Is 4d. Barley—Few samples offering, and business very quiet; prices nominally 2s 6d to 2b 9d for prime samples; inferior unsaleable. Potatoes —The market is glutted and they are difficult to quit at any price ; nominal value 30s to 32s 6d f.0.b,, sacks in. AUCTIONEERS' REPORT. TIMARTJ. Messrs Q-racie, Maclean and Co. report for the past fortnight as follows : Horsee —At the Timaru Horse Bazaar; on the 16th inst., our entry of draughts was a large one, and a large amount of business was done at good prices. To-day, with a smaller entry, we sold all the draughts to hand. Hacks of the stamp offering are difficult to sell at any price".! ■ We quote medium to good draughts at from £l6 to £23 iOs, inferior £8 to £l2. Hacks—medium £7 to £ll, light and weedy £8 to £6. Sheep—We have again to report a brisk demand for young stores forj turnip feeding, wethers in forward condition being most sought after. Well-grown healthy lambs are also enquired for and any offering command' high rates. At Winchester, there was only a small entry and but few buyers. We sold 159 fat ewes at lis 3d, 129 do do at 9s 6d. At Washdyke, on the 14th inst., we sold prime wethers at 6s, crossbred lambs, at 9s, do ewes at lOs 3d to lis 6d. Cattle—At'the raiious sales entries have been small and but little business doing. There is no demand for stores of any age, but good fat. cattle are selling at equal ~to 17s 6d per lOOlbs. We sold 1 cow at £4, 6 bullocks at £6, 1 heifer at £5 ss, 6 ;heifers at £3 ss, 4 steers at £4 ss, 1 cow at £4 sb, 11 heifers at 355, 11 do £2 ss, cows springing to calve 50a to £6, calves 9s to lis.

Sheepskins—At our sale this week we catalogued and sold over 700 skins at full values, but crossbreds realised 3s 3d to 5s 2d, medium 2s to 3s, pelts 4's to Is 6d, dry skins at s&d to s£d per lb, 2 bales crossbred wool at 7£d per lb, 1 do do at sfd, 1 bale pieces at 3id, 30 bags at 3d to s|d. Tallow—We have disposed of all consignments to hand, about two tons, at from- lis to 13s. ENGLISH MARKETS. Lok-doh", May 22.

For New Zealand long-berried wheat on passage sellers are asking 435, but buyers will not give more than 42s 6d.
