A RwnaWaY.—Oa Saturday (be c»lm which pervades the Temuki Main Street was rudely disturbed by cry of " runaway," and people turned out to watch I the progress of a horse, minus its blinkers, but yoked to a spring trap, that proceeded at a leisurely canter through the town. Opposite Mr Ddnn'a premises Mr Dtflenzy's dog Girt was standing, and it was even bettiog that bis borse would either be killed or the trap smashed. The unexpected, it is Slid, always happens, for the "oaoter-away" steered very cleverly between the verandth posts and the dog cart, merely grazing itt wheel, aud leaving Mr Deßenzy'a horee in a mild state of at the fuss that people were making. At Whitehead's corner au attempt was made to stop the beast, but it« unbridled front was not sufficiently tempting, sod the animal continued its career, finally stopping iu Vine Street. Jt appears that it belonged to Mr Jones, of Pleasant Point, and was left standing in Dr Hayes' ynrd. Here the blinkers slipped off, und the borse bolted towsrds the stable, turned there, and then made for the gitc, the head of which it smashed. Ouco outside it proceeded down the street as described, fortunately esuapiog and doing no injury.
