AMOUNT PEEL ROAD BOARD.

The monthly meeting this board was held in the Boad- Board office, Peel Forest, on Friday the 15th inst. Present— Hon. J. B A. A eland (chairman), Messrs C. Q-. Tripp, and Q. J. Dennistoun. COBBESPONDENCE. The following correspondence was read and considered: — Prom the secretary to the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, stating that persons would be admitted to the hospital upon an order signed by any individual memcer of the Boad Board. Prom the Manager Mount Peel Station, offering £5 f®r the timber en the road between Sections 3208 and 4035. —The offer was accepted. From Mr William McCully, requesting that the name of Henry McCully be entered on the rate roll in place of his for land at Baincliff. —The clerk to obtain Mr Henry McOully’s consent to the alteration. From Mr C. M. Brooke, quoting price for poisoned grain.—Proposed by Mr Tripp, seconded by Mr Dennistoun, and carried, “ That the overseer procure six bags of wheat, the board to find the poison and mix the ingredients and charge any one using it the price of the wheat, or if a ratepayer pre? ferred to bring his own wheat the board to poison it for him.” BATE. The question of striking a rate and the amount required to carry on the work of the board was discussed, when it was proposed by Mr Dennistoun,

seconded by Mr Tripp, and carried, “ That a general rate of a halfpenny in the £ be struck by this board, to include Harbor Board rate and Hospital and Charitable Aid rate, such to be payabh on the first day of October, 1891.” overseer's repost. The overseer’s report on roads leading to perpetual lease land on the Opuba river was read, when the work proposed to be done was approved of, and the proposal to be submitted to the Land Board. ACCOUNTS. Accounts to the amount of £37 1 Is 4d were passed for payment. Resolved ‘‘That the next ordinary meeting of the board be held on Friday the 12th June next.” The meeting then terminated.
