London, May 4. Tho House of Lords, by a large majority, negalivid the proposed delayiog of Lord Knntsford’s Bill enforcing tho modus vivendi with Franco in connection with tiro-Newfoundland fisheries. The Bill w»s then passed through Ccmmitlae. May 5. Lord Kuutsford and Salisbury both opposed abe motion to allow Newfouudland time on the ground that it warnecessary to respect treaty obiigatious. The Newfoundland bovernm'-ui bavr made no attempt at legislation aa suggested. •If the Fisheries Bill introduced bv Lord Lnutsford reachrs the House < > Commons the Opposition intend to make it the great question of the sesion, May 6. In constqnence of an advice from tm delegates now in London, the Newfoundland Government wired that they won d introduce .a Bill to enforce the modus vivendi.
