GERALDINE DOMAIN BOARD.
The monthly meeting of this board was held on Tuesday evening last. Present—Messrs A. White (chairman), W. B. Masiin, A. Sherratt, J. Williams, R. Hammond, N. Dunlop, and J. Mundell. * TIMBER IX THE BUSH. The chairman explained that the Works Committee had, as authorised, terminated Mr E. Johnson’s contract, and called tenders for cutting a por tion o£ the timber m the Eaukapuka bush destroyed by fire, Messrs Grindell and Gould’s tender had been accepted. On behalf of the works committee he explained that their contract would occupy six months, and the committee considered it would be better to get the balance of the work done at once, so as to sell the material during the winter months. It was left to the works committee to make the best arrangements tbey could for completing the work at once. LEASE OF SECTIONS, A tender was received from Messrs Hay and I’ergusson for the lease of sections 140 to 147. The tender not being satisfactory it was declined. The meeting then terminated.
