THE EDUCATION BOARD OF THE DISTRICT OF SOUTH CANTER BURY. ANNUAL ELECTION OF SCHOO COMMITTEES. THE Board, in pursuance of powers in that behalf conferred by the “ Education Act, 3877 ” (section 64), hereby directs that a PUBLIC MEETING OF THE HOUSEHOLDERS in every School District throughout ihe Education District of South Canterbury, be held on MONDAY, the TWENTY-SEVENTH DAY OF APRIL, One Thousand Eight Hundred and Ninety-One, at seven o’clock in the evening, for the Election in each District of Seven Householders (section 64) to form the Committee for such District for the year ending with the fourth Monday in April, Eighteen Hundred and Ninoij-two. AT a Special Meeting of the Council of the County of Geraldine, helo in the Council’s Office on Wednesday, April B'h, 1891, the following Resolution m-iking a SPECIAL ORDER was passed : “ That this Council, in pursuance of the powers vested in it bv ‘ The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1886,' that this Council do make aid iovyaSpeciU Annual Recurring Rate of One Halfpenny (£d) in the (£) Pound for each year, commencing from ihe first day of January, and ending on the Slat ri«y of December, on ihe rateable value of all property within the limits of that portion of the County of Geraldine called or known as ‘The Waitobi Fiat Water Supply District,’to provide the interest and sinking fund upoo an authorised loan of (£3000) Three Thousand Pounds, raised-by the Council under the provisions of ‘The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,’ for the purpose of constructing special public works, consit'ng of Water-race*, within such portion or district exclusively. Such rate to come into force on the first day of June, 1891, and to be payab e on the first day rf August following, and in subsequent years on the first day of May, for a period of twenty-six years, until the said loan is paid off.
