TEMUKA. RIFLES.
The following has been received by Captain Cutten ; 1. —The officer commanding the battalion requests that officers commanding compan'es will convey to their men the following expression of approval by Lieut.Colonel Gordon, commanding Canterbury brigade. 2. —Lieutenant - Colonel Gordon has stated that he is extremely pleased with the excellent way in which all flanks of the battalion have worked while on parade, and with the cheerful spirit with which they have performed their work in (he field. He thanks them for their excellent, steady conduct in camp, and for the way in which they have performed the hard work allotted to them.
3.—The officer commanding the battalion desires on his part to give hearty thanks to the officers, non-commissioned officers, and privates, for the way in which they have supported him in maintaining the credit of the South Canterbury battalion in camp, and congratulates them on the satisfactory report received from the officers commanding the brigade.
