The following is the report for the week ending Wednesday:— Wheat —Market firm. Tuscan and velvets, 3s lid to 4s; other milling sorts, 3s 8d to 3s lOd. Fowls wheat: Scarce —rgood whole, 3s 7d to 3s 8d ; broken and inferior, 3s 2d to 3s 4d. Barley—Best malting, 3s to 3s 3d ; milling, 2s 6d to 2s 8d ; feed, 2s 3d to 2a 4d ; pearl barley, £l3. Hops, Is to la Id. Oats—Bright milling, Is 5d to Is s£d ; bright plump feed, is 4|d to Is Onions, £5 10s. Prussian blue peas, 3s 4d, f.o.b. Blenheim. Flour—Timaru roller, 50’s, £lolss \ Oamaru town and southern stone; £9 5s ; 50’s, £9 15s. Oatmeal—Long tun, bulk, 25’s, £8 10s ; short tun, bulk, £8 ; 7’s, £10; Bran, £2 10s. Sharps, £3 10a. Potatoes Derwents, £2 10a to £2 15s. Bigs, 2£d to 3d for good-sized bacon pigs. Hams, 7d to 8d; bacon, 5d to 6d; Chaff, 40s to 42s 6d. Turnips, 18s to 20a. Carrots, 35 e to 40a. : Straw —Oaten and wheaten, 80s to 355. Hay, oaten, £3; clover and ryegrass hay, £3 to £3 ss. Butter—Prime salt, 6d to (kegs extra) ; fresh butter, in fair supply. Eggs, scarce. Honey, 4£d to 5d new season’s to hand. Cheese —Factory, 4d to 4|d; Akaroa, to 4d. Grass Seeds Ryegrass, farmers, 3s 9d to 4s 6d; machine-dressed, 5s 6d : cocksfoot, 4|d to s^d. Sheepskins —On Tuesday buyers operated f reely* and satisfactory prices were obtained throughout. Fullwoolled skins brought 4s to 6s ; merinos, 4s to 5a 6d; good early shorn dry pelts, Is 9d ;to 2s 4d ; medium, Is 4d to Is 7d; inferior, lOd to Is 2d . butchers’ green pelts, best, 2s to 2s 3d; light, Is 6d to Is 9d ; lambskins, 2s to 3s. Hides—The market is in the same position as last week-— ie., bare of prime heavy ox —for which there is a good demand—and fully supplied with light and inferior sorts, which are but ; little in request. Best ox may be quoted at 3d to 3id; medium, 2£d to 2£d; inferior to medium, l£d to Ifd and 2d per lb.

Tallow—We quote prime rendered mutton tallow (in shippug casks) at 19s to 20a per cwt,; good rendered mixed, 17s 6d to 18s 6d j medium, 16s to 17s; inferior, 12s to 14s; clear cauls, 13s to 13s 6d; rough fat, 10s to lls 6d per cw l t.

AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. Sydney, March 25. Wheat, chick, 3a; milling, 3s lOd to 4a. Oats, la lOd to 2s. Maize, to 3a 3d. Barley, Cape, 2s ; English, 2s 4d. Bran, 7fd to Bd. Pollard, B£d to 9d. Peas, blue Prussian, .3s 6d to 3s 9d. Potatoes, New Zealand, £3; circular heads, £4. Onions, £3. Butter, dairy made, 5d to 6d ; factory made, 7d to Bd. Cheese, sd. At the wool sales prices show a slight tendency to weaken in all descriptions except medium greased, for which s the demand is good. The seasonis now oter, and only renanants are coming to hand. Flour, stone makes, £8 ss; roller makes, £9 to £9 10a, Bran, Is, Pollard, 10|rd. ENGLISH MARKETS. London, March 22. Silver, 3s Bfd. March 25. The total quantity of wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 2,900,000 quarters, and for the Continent 1,372,000 quarters. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following cable message from London, dated 24 h inst.;— The wheat market is active owing to increased Continental competition. Quotations are unchanged since last telegram.
