OUR VOLUNTEERS.
TBMDKA RIFLES. A special parade of the above corps was held last evening in Temuka, for the purpose of inspecting tho accoutrements of the men preparatory to going to the Oamaru encampment. There was a good attendance, close on 40 being present. The inspection was conducted by Lieut. Findlay with satisfactory result, and several recruits who joined lately were supplied with haversacks, waterbottles, and leggings. Arrangements were made for going to Oamaru by a train which leaves Temuka at 2 30 a.ra. next Friday morning, and it is expected that close on 40 men, including officers, will go Oamaru, March 24. The arrangements for the volunteer encampment „renow completed. The camp will be in an 80-acre paddock, 40 acres of which have been covered with tents, Ac. The camp is well sheltered on all aides by thick belts of trees. 3000 tents have been erected, besides marquees, hospitals, and cooking houses, canteons, Ac. Accommodation has been provided for over 2500 men. The Hussars will be camped on the show ground, where the covered stalls can be utilised for the horses. The Naseby men are marching over the mountains to Oamaru.
