GERALDINE FLAT SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
A meeting of this esmmittee was held on Thursday evening, Mr D. Shaw in the chair. After passing some small accounts, the inspector’s report on the annual examination was considered. This showed that there had been 24 children presentedfor examination in standards, and that 17 had passed, 2 were exempted, and 5 failed. The numbers presented in the various standards were:— Standard YI. —Presented 8, passed 7. failed 1. Standard V.—Presented 1, passed 1. Standard IV.—Presented 3, passed 2, failed 1. Standard III —Presented 3, passed 1, exempted 1, failed 1. Standard ll.—Presented 5, passed 3, failed 2. Standard I. —Presented 4, passed 3, exempted 1.
The inspector’s remarks were: — Class P.—lt would be desirable and profitable to give more care and instruction to the preparatory pupils. The school has passed a good examinations. The order, tone, and attention are satisfactory. The committee expressed satisfaction at the number that had been successful in passing Standard YL, the more especially as five of them had passed through the various standards year after year. The following motion, proposed by Mr South and seconded by Mr Wilkinson, was carried unanimously : —“ That the committee are highly satisfied with the report, and that it be forwarded to the papers for publication.” The meeting then terminated.
