SUPREME COURT.
DxniEDiN", March 4. In the Supreme Court Andrew Manson was indicted for indecent assault. When the prosecutrix, aged eleven, was put into the witness box, she started crying and refused to be sworn in, and in answer to a question said that she had told an untruth in the Police Court about accused, and did not want'to be sworn. Eventually the girl consented to be sworn, and she then stated that the whole story she had previously narrated concerning Manson was untrue. His Honor remarked that the medical testimony was consistent with the evidence of accused, and the Crown Prosecutor electing to go no further the jury were directed to return a verdict of not guilty. 'lhe charge of manslaughter against Henry Cecil, which is the last case on the calendar, is now proceeding.
