Melbottene, February 20. At the wool sales to-day there was brisk competition. Good qualities are firm and inferior sorts weak. American representatives are making large* purchases* while English are acting in 'reserve. Medium to good greasy merino, brought 7£d. to 104 per lb, ordinary cold water : washed; i merino: ;la 2d to Is 2£d, good scoured merino' lai 4id. Sydney* February 20. .The'Official estimate of the wheat yield .for the colony is 4,300,000 bushels, which gives an average ofi ll.lTrbushels per acre, After? deducting i seed requirements,: only 3,725,000 bushels remainder home consumption*: iwhile the quantity required is 7,700,000 rbusbels.
