BOWLING.
Cheistchfech, Feb. 9. There is beautiful weather for the New Zealand Bowling Association’s Champion Eink Tournament, which commences to-day. No fewer than 36 rinks will compete. Three rinks from Timaru will compete, not in the tournament, but for medals given by the Association, The club members who arrived on Saturday night were met and warmly welcomed by representatives of the local clubs. To-day will be devoted to interclub matches. On the Canterbury green the first games played were Canterbury v. Caledonian* (Dunedin), and Canterbury v. Eoslyn. The games resulted as follows Canterbury No. 1 rink, 20—3—27 —4—ll, total 58. Caledonian No. 1, skip 20 —3—l3 —4 —33, total 66. Canterbury No. 2 rink, 10—5—13. Eoslyn No. 2 rink, 30 —5—20, total 50. Winners—Caledonian 18 points, Eoslyn 27 points. On the Christchurch green two rinks from Green Island and five from Dunedin played Christchurch Club seven rinks, : —Dunedin No, 1 riek, 24 —2—20—3—15 —s—lß, total 77. Christchurch No. I rink, 16 — 2—135 —13—5 —19,total 61. Green Island No.‘[4 rink, 25—6—12, total
37. Christchurch No. 4 rink, 15— 6—29, total 44. The interclub matches up to the present have all resulted in victories lor the southerners except Oreen Island.
