THE BEHRING SEA DISPUTE.

London, Jan. 6. Tbe Foreign Office deny that the Behring Sea dispute is serious. Tbe despatches are merely a re-hash of what has appeared in (be press. Tbe Utter accuse Secretary Blaine of working up a warfeeling for party purposes. Jan, 7. Tbe Standard’s Washington correspondent telegraphs that tbe United States Government are considering a proposal to suspend tbs sealing in the Behring Sea pending an agreement with the powers interested.. Mr J. G. Blaine, the Under Secretary accepts tbe principle of arbitration respecting tbe Behring Sea dispute, sod suggests a revision of the Marquis of Salisbury’s references.
