London, Jan. 1. Mr Parnell has refused to surrender the control of the Central League funds, and has also declined Mr O'Brien's suggestion that Mr Dillon should be nominated as leader of the party until such time as Mr Parnell is ready to resume it. Mr O'Brien considers that the party under the leadership of Mr Jus<in McCarthy have almost ruined tbe cause of Home Rule and jeopardised the American campaign, Mr Parnell has recovered from the effects of the lime which was tbrawn into bia face. He intends to take a rest for a week on his estate at Avondaie, and will shortly return to Boulogne to resume negotiations with Mr O'Brien and other chiefs of the Irish party. Mrs O'Shea compromised the action brought to contest her aunt's will, under which she received an immense fortune. She has agreed to abandon ber claims in consideration of tho payment of £50,000. Lord George Hamilton, in the course of a speech to bis cons'ituents, said Mr Parnell bad a majority in Ireland, bat the minority woald be the chief factor in that country for years to come.
