London, Dec. 81. The extremely cold weather which has; been experienced in England lately has been tbe causa of a large number of deaths. The intense frost which still continues in England and on the Continent is causing a great amount of damage, In some parts of England the railway lines have been injured. Stock is suffering severely from the .effects of the weather, and a large number of deer have left the bills and forests and are seeking food at farmhouses. Hundreds of.bares have been frozen to death. The Thames is frozen over at Twickenham. Berlin, Dec. 31. -The severe frost which has prevailed; daring tbe last few weeks has destroyed scores of miles of wooden pavement in : this city.

War with tbe Indians has now become general. Other adyicea state that a provision train while on its Way «o Pine Ridge Was attacked by a party of Indians. After severe fighting they were driven off, thirty of their number having been killed.

The revenue of New Sooth Wales for (he past year amounts to £9,497,000 being £434,000 in excess of the revenue for 1889, and £82,000 beyond the Colonial Treasurer’s estimates.
