AROWHENUA TOWN BOARD.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, Will you kindly give me space in jour valuable paper to deny a statement which I saw in jour paper of the 11th inst. in the Arowhenua Town Board minutes, stating that it was George Washington that wrote the letter to the board, and not his son John. Now I wish to tell Mr Douglas and the public that 1 am not in the habit of going about trying te deceive people, more particularly the Town Board, as they know my handwriting, having many of my signatures. Had 1 wrote to the board it is a privilege na one can deny me. If an accident happened through those obstructions the board would be amenable and the fine would be paid out of the ratepayers’ money, so that any ratepayer would be justified in doing that which my son did. X say say more—the greatest stranger would have a sure case in court against anyone putting obstructions on any public thoroughfare.—Yours, &c., GK Washinotoh. Arowhenua, Dec. 16th, 1890.
