WESLEYAN CHURCH, TEMUKA.
SUND IT SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY. At the above church on Sunday last the preacher, the Bey. L. M, Isitt, met the expectation of the good congregations, both morning and evening. The floral service and prize presentation in the afternoon was perfection itself to the children, and an address from the Eev. Mr' Isitt was well received The number of pupils on the roll is 78, against 45 in 1889, and there are 9 teachers against 6 in the previous year. The following is the prize list;— GIBLS. Ist Class—Frieda Barrett 1, Fanny Hope 2, Lilian Brown 3, Ellen Fawdray 4, Lizzie Norton 5, Alice Hopkinson 6, Euphemia Duncan 7, Jessie Duncan 8, Bessie Hayes 9. 2nd Class—Annie Hope 1, Edith Charteris 2, Bertha Davis 3, Nellie Hopkinson 4, Lizzie Leyens 5, Jessie Powell 6, Lizzie Duncan 7. 3rd Class—Maud Williams 1, Clara Clinch 2, Lizzie Moore 3, Comfort Davis 4, Eva Lynch 5, Grace Hope 6, Gertie Lynch 7, Esther Eowe 8, Clara Bowe 9, Maod Eowe 10. BOTS. Ist Class Thomas Hooper 1, Charles Hooper 2, Joseph Charteris 3, Cecil Brovm 4, James Hart 5. Norton 8, William Mabin 9, John Levens 10, James Levens 11, Robert Moore 12, William Duncan 13, Paul Bates 14, Prank Bates 15, Stanley Brown 16’ Henry Clinch 17. The singing through all three services by the children was good. The suitableness of the hymns, together with the harmony of voices, was a long way beyond what was expected, specially due to the training of Mr Harrison, who presided all day at the harmonium. The collections were much above the average.
