ALLEGED BRIBERY AND CORRUPTION.
Sydney. Dec, 10. In the House of Assemb'y Mr Crick has moved that all charges against numbers of the Legislature of alleged corruption and bribery bs disproved, or if any member be found gni Itv tiny should be discovered and pnoiehed ; further, that as the Government bad refused to taka steps to vindicate the good name of Parliament in this direction they had forfeited the confiience of the House. Dec. 11. ' In the House of Assembly, during a discussion on the Broken Hill Water Bill, Mr Crick, who w»s : recently reelected for MacQuarrie West, appealed to the Government to appoint a Royal Commission to clear the grave suspicions surrounding every member. He stated that be was prepared to substantiate bis charges of bribery, and if be failed then let his name never again appear on a ballot paper of the House. The Bill finally passed, Mr Crick defying the Government to appoint a Commission. The Premier stated that if any bon. member would make a distint charge against another member then the Government would take action.
300,000 copies of Michael Davitt’s newspaper, The Labour World, were printed the first issue, and even that large nueber failed to supply the demand.
